Snoop Remixes Kes The Band’s Stress Away

February 1, 2012

Kees Dieffenthaller told us something big was about to happen, but we didn’t know exactly how big. Well, now we do. This morning, Kes the Band unveiled the remix to their Carnival 2012 hit “Stress Away,” featuring none other than Snoop Dogg. Now, let’s be clear, Snoop Dogg has unfortunately crossed over too much, if you will, and become perilously close to becoming wack. Yep, wack. Luckily, he’s been reigning it in as of late and has been much less annoying. And, if we’re being honest, there really is no one better to have appear on a song about letting your stress go than Snoop. It’s a big deal for Kes, as the band is walking that tightrope that appears after coming off an amazing season (they are the reigning Groovy Soca Monarch champs with a hit song – “Wotless” – that transcended its soca roots). They have to push harder and improve upon that standing now if they want to continue to grow. Adding Snoop to the mix can only help. I’m proud of them. Here’s two fingers crossed they get radio play in the US.
