SHOW: The Blacklist, drama

WHO: James Spader (The Closer), Megan Boone (Law & Order: LA), Ryan Eggold (90210), Diego Klattenhoff (Homeland), Harry Lennix (Alias), Ilfenesh Hadera

WHAT: The world’s most wanted criminal (Spader) mysteriously turns himself in and offers to give up everyone he has ever worked with.  His only condition is he will only work with a newly minted FBI agent (Boone) with whom he seemingly has no connection.

WHEN: Mondays, 10:00 PM EST

WHERE: NBC

BOTTOM LINE: My first reaction was: This looks like a J.J. Abrams show; very Alias-esque. And then I realize that the showrunner is former Alias producer John Eisendrath. It’s also airing in Abrams’ former Revolution timeslot, following The Voice. As a freshman show on NBC, you couldn’t get a better timeslot. It looks complicated enough to bring in savvy viewers, but not too complicated for the NCIS crowd.
