ABG 2:5 – The Interview

October 16, 2012

CeCe didn’t figure prominently in the episode, but who wouldn’t love to take one of her dance classes?

Our favorite awkward black girl (J, played by writer/producer Issa Rae) is looking for a new job and tackling the always-nerve-wracking challenge of being charming (but not too charming), intelligent (but not too intelligent) and familiar (but not too familiar). The job interview always has been a worthy experience to tackle, so I definitely enjoyed watching Rae’s take on the situation. And, all the while, she’s frustrated due to lack of intimacy from her new boyfriend. Are we assuming White Jay is not doing his job because he’s afraid he won’t measure up? He’s a guy. We like sex. There really isn’t a lot of other viable explanations, but I am certainly waiting to see what happens.

I still miss Fred.

Oh, and while we’re talking Issa Rae, let’s all send her a congratulations for being named the writer/producer for Shonda Rhimes‘ latest endeavor for ABC, the pilot for I Hate LA Dudes. The mini-pilot is shown below.
