Ry’ann Sings the Song of Summer

May 26, 2011

Gloria Ry’ann, she of the beautiful voice, sent me a tweet a few minutes ago with the link to this gorgeous rendition of Minnie Ripperton‘s “Inside My Love” – complete with vocal acrobatics that would make more than half of Billboard’s Hot 100 green with envy. I don’t know what she plans to do with the song, but frankly that doesn’t matter. What does matter is that you press play on this Soundcloud player embedded below and let Ry’ann’s smooth vocals take you to another place. I’d suggest you open the windows, turn down the lights, pour a nice glass of Chardonnay and let Gloria do the rest. Just sayin’.

*****  UPDATE  *****

The original version I had posted – with the full song – was also posted on several other websites and apparently was receiving more downloads than expected by Ry’ann’s label. So, they took that page down and posted a new one with just a snippet of the song. I am happy for Gloria that there’s been such a major response. I am saddened for you that you don’t get to hear the entire song. BUT… you must pay attention and when the song is officially released, make a B-line to whatever source you use for new music acquisitions and add it to your collection. Ry’ann is officially owning this song in 2011. No lies.
