Jill Scott’s Shame[less]

March 25, 2011

She’s back, y’all. After taking pushing her 2010 album, The Light of the Sun, back to 2011 due to that fight with Hidden Beach, Jilly from Philly is back and ready to go! Taking a break from shooting the first video for her fourth – yes, fourth, can you believe it’s been that long? – studio album, Jill Scott talked to CNN about her love of Philadelphia, helping save the recreational center she played in as a kid and the new project.

The video for the lead single, “Shame” features fellow Philly natives Mos Def, Black Thought, Pharaohe Monch, Peedi Crakk, Ms. Jade and EVE, who also dropped a verse on the track. The album will be released through Warner Brothers and hopefully will get the major marketing push that Scott has long deserved, but yet to receive. Expect to see The Light of the Sun in early summer.
