Academy Award Nominations Accounced

January 25, 2011

This morning Mo’Nique (who looked absolutely awesome) was on-hand to make the announcements for the 83rd Annual Academy Awards. As expected, The King’s Speech led the way with 12 nominations. True Grit, The Social Network, The Fighter… they all received multiple nominations as well. My personal favorite, Winter’s Bone, picked up four nods and Michelle Williams snuck into the Best Actress Race for Blue Valentine.

Surprises include: no Best Director nomination for Inception‘s Christopher Nolan, Julia Roberts’ push for Javier Bardem to get a Best Actor nod for Biutiful worked (likely at the expense of Valentine‘s Ryan Gosling), Julianne Moore didn’t get any love (not a huge surprise, but a disappointment nevertheless).
