joe’s favorite things: Best American Short Stories, 2010

December 20, 2010

joe’s favorite things #5The Best American Short Stories 2010. I haven’t read it yet, but if the last ninety-five years worth of collections haven’t already set a precedent, I have no words for you.

Since 1915 editors have been compiling an annual collection of the best short stories written throughout the year. In it’s current version (since 1978), a different editor is chosen each year to compile said list. Names like John Updike (1984), Amy Tan (1999) and Walter Mosley (2003) have lorded over previous year’s collections. This year Richard Russo (Nobody’s Fool, Empire Falls) has been chosen to do the honors.

One day, I will. Just thought you should know my goals.

Hope you enjoy.
