ABC’s Fall Lineup

May 18, 2010

Nothing that exciting here, but… then again they cancelled Ugly Betty and Lost will be dead and buried by September; we shouldn’t expect fireworks. Interestingly enough, NBC‘s new dramas fit so much better on ABC‘s schedule. I wish they had snatched a few of them instead of this mess they have worked into their schedule.

The only good news? CBS cancelled The New Adventures of Old Christine. There’s a 50/50 chance ABC will do right by the funniest sitcom on the air.

Oh, and if you haven’t heard about the newest addition to Wisteria Lane, check it out.

Oh, and in other baffling news, apparently ABC is only picking up 18 episodes of Brothers and Sisters. And V will be back (FlashForward won’t), but not until mid-season.

Descriptions:

Body of Proof Dana Delany stars as a medical examiner trying to solve the mystery of who killed the victims of an accident that ended her career as a neurosurgeon.

Detroit 1-8-7 stars Michael Imperioli. Homicide/NYPD Blue set in Detroit.

My Generation A documentary-style dramedy about a group of Texas high school students then and 10 years later.

Still awake? I just took a 20 minute nap.

No Ordinary Family Michael Chiklis as the patriarch of a family that goes from ordinary to extraordinary. Wow.

Off the Map From executive producers Shonda Rhimes and creator Jenna Bans, this drama focuses a tiny town in the South American jungle which has one understaffed, under-stocked medical clinic. This one has promise, only because of Shonda and the tropical setting. Remember Going to Extremes?

The Whole Truth Rob Morrow stars in this legal drama that tells story from perspective of both the defense and prosecution.

Better Together A marriage comedy that stars JoAnna Garcia.

Happy Endings Elisha Cuthbert stars in this series about how a couple’s break-up will complicate all of their friends’ lives and make everyone question their choices.

Mr. Sunshine Matthew Perry stars as Ben Donovan, the self-involved manager of a second-rate San Diego sports arena who begins to re-evaluate his life on his 40th birthday. Because it’s Matthew Perry, I will watch at least 3 episodes.

Secret Millionaire A one-hour alternative series (they really mean reality series, but apparently want to sound highbrow) that follows some of America’s wealthiest people for one week as they leave behind their lavish lifestyles, sprawling mansions and luxury jets, conceal their true identities, and go to live and volunteer in some of the most impoverished and dangerous communities in America.
