joe’s favorite things: Sprezzatura, a Kitchen Consultancy

December 21, 2010

What better gift for the foodie in your heart than a series of workshops with a private chef? From learning the most efficient – and cost-effective – ways to stock your pantry to the proper use of your kitchen equipment to the perfect recipe for szechuan chicken, engaging in the services of a good private chef is tantamount to spending a semester in cooking school. You will learn the basics, figure out what works for you in your kitchen and get some great recipes along the way. There is nothing more fulfilling than to cook an amazing meal and to then sit down and enjoy it. Well, if you’re eating it with someone and they gush about how good it is and then do the dishes, that is more fulfilling, but you knew what I meant in the first place.

Dr. Sandra Kolka, owner and head culinary master of Sprezzatura, an Atlanta-based kitchen consultancy, has decades of experience under her apron. Having left a long-term position with Williams-Sonoma in 2008, she decided to form her own company and take a chance at educating the masses. Sprezzatura, an Italian word that roughly translates to a certain nonchalance, making whatever one does seem effortless, immediately sprang to mind, as she believes that cooking is just that: something that should seem effortless. Dr. Kolka’s food – and I can speak from experience – ranges from quite simply delicious to divinely ethereal.

If you would like to work with Dr. Kolka, she has a full range of options in which her workshops can go. Feel free to contact her at Sandra@kolkakitchen.com immediately to set up your appointment today.

Mille, mille grazie, figlio. Buon Natale e un buon anno to all you bright readers/followers of the well-spoken and excellent taste of our sponsor, Joseph Riley Land. Of course I am at your service in 2011. I’m deep into “Global Cookie Swaps” and “Sicilian Feast of the Seven Fishes” these past few weeks… Looking forward to Thai, Chinese, French, Italian and Spanish “light and authentic” cuisines in the New Year!

I am a HUGE fan of Dr. Sandra Kolka. Your life is empty if she isn’t in it.
